New Year and lots of snow

We have lots of snow here in Alleghany county. I have been thinking about all the flowers and bulbs we planted now blanketed with inches of snow. Spring will be beautiful when all of them start popping up and blooming. Our website will be making lots changes in the next year. We hope you will like them.

Growing Fresh Cut Flowers

Today was another great gardening day here at Innovative Occasions. Maynard and I have been planting many fresh cut flower gardens this year around our home and business. About 100 tulips, hyacinths, and iris were planted. Annual plant beds clean and fresh mulch added. It will be so nice to know I will have fresh flowers for next springs weddings and events. We were able to use our gerbera daisies, snapdragons, zinnias and sunflowers this year for the Wilkes Wedding Expo and a wedding. There will be so many more flowers next year to offer to our brides. The flowers are ordered or cut specifically for each occasion to assure there true beauty. We already have great blue ribbon winners to furnish our dahlias. The varieties they can offer are so beautiful and they are also local this can save our brides and event givers quite a bit on their flowers. We used the gorgeous dahlias in the bouquets and bouts at the wedding expo and at a wedding this past year.

A life of experience and varied careers have given my husband and I what we need to begin a new business. Innovative Occasions offers many wedding and event services; planning, florist, rentals, and limousine service. Our planning skills have come from true life experiences of planning and organizing many successful parties and events throughout our lives. I have participated in many event planning groups during my cooperate career days which taught me the need for diversity planning and allowances. My husband "Maynard" and I will be married 27 years November 13, 2009 we have always loved to attend weddings and have seen and been a part of many from Charlotte, NC to New Jersey and Wilmington, NC to Laurel Springs, NC. We have witnessed all kinds of weddings simple to elegant. I will be adding to my blog regularly to let you know how our love and belief in marriage can help you have the marriage of your dreams.
